The first images from the big screen adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s best-selling romance novel It Ends With Us starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have dropped. See the images in our gallery below!
The official stills capture Lively and Baldoni as the film leads, Lily Bloom and Ryle Kincaid. The first image shows Lively’s character standing on what seems to be some kind of rooftop. The second image shows her enjoying karaoke with Baldoni’s character, whilst the third shows her sitting in a café as Sklenar’s character engages her in conversation. The fourth image shows Lively & Baldoni holding one another’s faces intensely. The fifth is an off-camera photo of Baldoni embracing Hoover, whilst the next shows Baldoni directing with headphones on. The penultimate image shows Lively and Slate sharing a laugh on-set, whilst the final image is a close-up of Baldoni gazing at something in the distance.
If the movie follows the novel — and for now, it’s safe to assume that it does — the plot should follow Lily Bloom, who falls for a neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid. The two get married, but things start to shift between the two when Bloom’s high school love, Atlas Corrigan, enters the picture.
“Though coming from a complicated past, Lily Bloom has always known the life she wants,” the film’s official synopsis reads. “While living in Boston, she meets neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid and believes she may very well have found her soul mate. Soon, however, questions arise about their relationship, and to complicate matters, her high school love interest, Atlas Corrigan, comes back into the picture, putting her relationship with Ryle in jeopardy.”
It Ends With Us will be released in August, 2024.
