Netflix has released the first official trailer for Bridgerton Season 3 Part 1, the hit romance drama based on Julia Quinn’s best-selling book series. The trailer shows us our first look at Sam Phillips’ debut as Lord Debling, who is expected to become one of Penelope Featherington’s love interests in the new instalment now led by Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton.
The series also stars Golda Rosheuvel, Jonathan Bailey, Claudia Jessie, Ruby Barker, Sabrina Bartlett, Ruth Gemmell, Adjoa Andoh, Polly Walker, Bessie Carter, Simone Ashley, and Harriet Cains, with Julie Andrews as the voice of Lady Whistledown. Season 3 will also feature new cast members Daniel Francis (Stay Close) as Marcus Anderson, Sam Phillips (The Crown) as Lord Debling, and James Phoon (Wreck) as Harry Dankworth.
“Season 3 finds Penelope Featherington has finally given up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. She has, however, decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters,” reads the official synopsis. “But lacking in confidence, Penelope’s attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly. Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger.”
Bridgerton Season 3 will be divided into two parts, with the first half set to debut on May 16 and the second half to premiere on June 13.
